New location, new adventure: this weekend, the iXS European Downhill Cup celebrates its premiere in Aprica, Italy - and thus in a location that not only offers spectacular Alpine scenery, but also a brand new course. It's going to be fast, rough and pretty exciting...

Aprica - fresh on the map

Aprica is a destination on the calendar this year that has never featured in iXS history - until now. Between the Valtellina and the Camonica Valley, in the heart of the Lombardy Alps, a terrain awaits that seems to be made for an event at top international level. If you want to win here, you need not only technique and courage but also plenty of stamina - because the metres in altitude are well deserved.

New track, new challenge

The track is newly built and was planned especially for the EDC. And although nobody has ridden it in race mode yet, here are some first impressions: Steep, technical, with fast passages, forest sections and natural obstacles. The mixture promises excitement - especially because no one in the riders' field has a real home advantage. Same game for everyone. Whoever finishes first here will make a little piece of Cup history.

Internationally occupied

As always at the EDC, the riders' field in Aprica is also strong: many names that can also be found on World Cup start lists are there. At the same time, the race is the perfect stage for young riders to ride their way into the limelight. Curtain up for new talents, fast runs and lots of downhill action made in Italy.

Let's go!

From Friday, the weekend will be all about tyres, stones, adrenaline and La Dolce Vita. Those who take part in Aprica will help write a piece of Cup history. Those who don't - will miss the starting signal for a potential new classic in the EDC calendar.
