The Bikepark Lienz showed its best side with a varied mix of weather and a course with intense curves. There was everything from rain chaos to sunshine - but in the end Justine Welzel and Simon Maurer took the lead in the elite classes with impressive runs.

Friday - Line Fever & thunderstorm break

The training started with perfect weather - dry, warm and with lots of flowing bends. But the mountain is unpredictable: in the afternoon, a thunderstorm broke over Lienz, forcing the organizers to end the training session an hour early. Saturday - Seeding in the constant rain

The day got off to a cloudy start with continuous rain - the course was wet but surprisingly grippy. Almost 250 riders fought exciting duels in the seeding - and some key sections separated good runs from great ones. In the end, it was Simon Maurer (GER - Schornsteinfeger Maurer) who took pole in the Elite Men with an impressive lead of 3.7 seconds. Justine Welzel (GER - Rose Bikes) dominated the field in the Elite Women's category.

Sunday - Sun & final finesse

The final day brought sunshine, dry lines and hot racing. The track was almost dry, ideal for full throttle runs and chasing best times. In a thrilling final, there was no getting away from Saturday's winners: Simon Maurer and Justine Welzel confirmed their top position and each took home the day's victory.

Lienz was a real trail mecca. We hope you were also able to try out the other trails in the bike park, because the trail builders have really gone the extra mile here! Apart from that, the downhill course challenged the riders' field, but also rewarded precision and courage. Almost 250 riders, a strong performance and a strong result from the German Elite winners - that's all you need for a weekend that leaves you wanting more.
