After a successful weekend at the iXS Dirt Masters Festival, the iXS Downhill Cup series goes to the shale-rich Steinach. Steinach has been an integral part of the Specialized RockShox Rookies Cup for several years and is now also represented in the iXS Downhill Cup. The bikepark is located in the Skiarena Silbersattel in the heart of the Thuringian Forest. Thanks to constant development measures, there are now various tracks on the Fellberg that wind their way along between 590 and 840 metres in altitude. One of them is a downhill course suitable for racing. In winter, winter sports enliven the region, as the Skiarena Silbersattel is one of the largest alpine ski areas in the middle of Germany and covers about 65,000 m². For passenger transport, there is a drag lift from the valley station to the middle station, which is then replaced by a chair lift to the top of the mountain.
The race will once again take place on the known downhill course. The track is characterised as a natural course with challenging shale as the ground, larger root passages, technical corners and jumps as well as natural, fresh sections. This year, however, the 1.7 km long track has changed a little bit. So you can already be curious about what the Dirtworks crew has conjured up in the forest...
So far, the weather looks promising with sunshine and small clouds. Perfect for practising and racing on the track in the dry during the day, and in the evening for a cosy cookout and outdoor get-together in the paddock. Cheers to a great race weekend!
