Spicak can definitely be regarded as one of the traditional hosts of the European Cup. Since the series first made its way to the bike park near the German border, the Struggle-Trail belongs to its annual venues. On 1800 meters in length the track covers a total descent of 320 meters and even though it is rather short it offers everything a really demanding race track needs – rocks and stones, but also some smooth forest ground and lots of roots.

A look at the previous results reveals that Constantin Ruetsch (SUI - iXS Gravity Union) currently sits atop the overall rankings, after his second place in Kranjska Gora and third place in Pila. Davide Palazzari (ITA - Scout Nukeproof) is listed on the second place. But he is 143 points back and is not registered for the upcoming race. That could open the door for Christopher Philogene (RSA - 2 Bros Racing / Start Fitness) to fight for the leaders position.
Only a few riders have already registered for the Elite Women category and as far as the title is concerned everything is still possible. While not registered Veronika Widmann (ITA - Insync Racing) currently leads the rankings with 528 points, Lea Rutz (SUI - iXS Gravity Union) is with 428 points on second place and could be able to get in the lead.
But let’s have a last look at the overall conditions: An important factor in every race is, of course, the weather. At the moment the forecast really doesn’t look too bad and the weather might be perfect to continue the EDC season.
