Haugom and Medcalf win in Aprica

Aprica has delivered: At the very first EDC edition in the northern Italian Alpine town, the fourth race of the 2025 season turned into a dust festival. A new track, summery conditions and a strong riders' field made for an all-round successful weekend full of action, adrenaline and atmosphere.

Thursday - Weather chaos to greet you

The journey through the Alps was picturesque, the first impressions of Aprica friendly - but in the evening, the high mountain climate showed its wild side. A thunderstorm with hail and heavy rain caused problems for the organisers, the team and the paddock.

Friday - Training in the best conditions

Summer came after the storm. With 28 degrees and sunshine, the newly built course was in perfect condition: grippy, flowy and full of fresh loam. The riders quickly got rolling, even if the line had to be found through the many natural sections.

Camden Rutherford from New Zealand and Evan Medcalf from Team Commencal USA took a close look at the brand new track in Aprica - big rocks, fast sections, tight corners and all the fresh loam you could wish for.

Saturday - heat and speed

The seeding day brought sunshine and a course that became increasingly dusty. The new sections were run in, small delays were dealt with professionally - the event was very well organised. The fastest in the seeding was Marco Lamaris (GER - Propain Positive), who dominated the competition in the Elite Men with a lead of almost 3 seconds. In the Elite Women, it was Luana Chereches (ROU - Bike House) who confidently took the lead.

Sunday - Dust battle in the final

The final day in Aprica delivered what the weekend promised: 30 degrees, shimmering heat and a track that was almost unrecognisable. The lines from Friday? Hardly recognisable. Deep braking bumps, loose stones and the finest dust demanded full concentration and lightning-fast adaptation.

Second place went to Stefano Introzzi (ITA - Ridewill Bike Centre Cimone), followed by the fastest seeding run rider Marco Lamaris (GER - Propain Positive).

Elite Women Podium EDC Aprica 2025

Elite Women

Kine Haugom (NOR - DH Talent Team) came out on top in the Elite Women category and, after her victory in Semmering, once again impressively proved that she can ride at the front in such conditions. She was followed by Luana Chereches (ROU - BikeHouse) and Abigail Hogie (USA - Beyond Racing), who celebrated a successful comeback after her injury at the World Cup in Leogang.
