A classic returns 

Registration for the iXS European Downhill Cup #2 in Fort William is now open. From 15–17 May 2026, the action returns to one of the world’s most legendary downhill tracks – a venue that has been making history for decades and continues to challenge even the best riders in the field year after year.

Racing in the heart of the Scottish Highlands

Nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of the Scottish Highlands lies Fort William, at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. The races take place at the Nevis Range Bike Park – one of Europe’s most famous venues.  The course is one of the world’s most famous downhill tracks. Stretching over approximately 2.8 kilometres and covering a vertical drop of around 655 metres, it demands everything from the riders: fast, open sections, rocky passages in the upper part, technical root-covered sections in the forest and the notorious high-speed ‘Motorway’ in the lower section. A look back at the past year

Last year, the iXS European Downhill Cup made its debut here – and it could hardly have been more spectacular. The combination of harsh Scottish weather, strong winds on the upper section of the course and one of Europe’s toughest downhill tracks made for a weekend full of excitement and impressive races. Top riders from across Europe used the event as the perfect preparation for the major international series and delivered racing at World Cup level. 

This year

The iconic character of the course will remain intact in 2026 – naturally, the track will be freshly prepared to create new lines and even smoother sections. Riders can therefore look forward to familiar key sections as well as some fresh challenges. With the unique backdrop of the Highlands, one of the most demanding downhill tracks in the world and an international field of riders, EDC #2 in Fort William promises once again to be a real highlight of the racing calendar.
