Every year, hundreds of riders and thousands of spectators are drawn to the picturesque town of Ilmenau in the Thuringian Forest. The race is known for its challenging course, which offers a mixture of steep descents, tight bends and challenging jumps.
The track in Ilmenau once wound its way through the dense forest. As this has now been almost completely destroyed by the bark beetle, a solution has to be found by August. The local club is currently working flat out to make the track race-ready again as quickly as possible. Further information on the track construction in Ilmenau will be available in the near future.

The second stop of the season took the iXS EDC back to Fort William – and with it, back to one of the most legendary downhill tracks of all time. Following last year’s impressive debut, it quickly became clear that this race has the potential to become an absolute classic on the calendar.
The fourth round of the 2026 iXS European Downhill Cup heads to Les Orres, France—a spectacular venue featuring one of the toughest courses on the entire calendar. From July 10–12, riders and spectators will enjoy a highly anticipated event on French soil. Registration is now open!
