The iXS European Downhill Cup was actually supposed to have its finale in Abetone, Italy, this year. The local organiser held on to it for a long time and tried everything possible, but in the end all that remained was the cancellation. The reason is that original promises of financial support from regional partners were cancelled, leaving an unclosable gap in the budget. The financial situation currently seems to be tense in many locations after the bad winter last year, so that the event sector in particular is often confronted with cutbacks.
Despite this cancellation, we are happy to still be able to offer a series with five first-class races and are looking forward to a top-class finale in Verbier, Switzerland. This means that the European Cup season will come to an end two weeks earlier, in mid-September. And even though the Italian stop is now missing, this season was probably one of the most widespread. The series made its first guest appearance in Spain and the return to France was also a huge success.
The entry fees already paid for series registrations are automatically refunded.

We are currently working hard to put together a full calendar for 2025 and hope for a generally more relaxed situation.
