Kick Off in Croatia
Last year, some were surprised by the unusual early start of the season. However, since the island of Losinj is one of the sunniest places in Europe, this will not be a problem. Quite the opposite: the offered scenery already makes the season opener a true highlight in the racing calendar. For this reason, the successful concept of the previous year will be continued. We can assume that also some World Cup athletes will find their way to Losinj to do last tests for their upcoming season.
A challenging track and over 300 days of sunshine a year provide a perfect venue for the season opener.
How to get there
The islands of Cres and Losinj, which are both connected by a swing bridge, can be reached by two different ferry connections. Coming from Central Europe, you usually use the connection from Brestova to Porozina (island of Cres). However, we recommend you to take the ferry from Valbiska (island of Krk) to Merag (island of Cres), as this way is a bit further, but faster and more comfortable. Both ferries are large and modern and the crossing takes between 20 and 25 minutes. Prices are around 35 euros for both connections for vehicles of 5 to 7 meters. More information can be found here.
Map & Accomodation
For a better orientation on site you will find a map below. So everyone can get an impression in advance how the local conditions are. The space for camping is very limited in the small town on the island. We therefore highly recommend that riders and coaches use the nearby Hotel Punta**** or its apartments with pools, spa and fitness. They offer favorable prices for participants. The registration and the race office will also be located at Hotel Punta****. The team area, the finish area and the lift system will be just a few hundred meters away.

The Track
Those who have already taken a close look at the site plan will have noticed a change from last year. Contrary to what was announced at the beginning of February, the finish area will no longer be at the harbor, but at the road before it. As beautiful and unique as the finish area at the harbor was... there just wasn't enough space. So the finish line will be directly at the expo and team area and also the way to the shuttle will be made easier. The fastest on the course last year, with a time of 02:21:06, was Luka Berginc. So this year, the two-minute mark could possibly be broken. Other than that, the course will be challenging as usual and will put riders and equipment to the test with its countless stones and technical sections.
The finish area will now be right by the Expo Area, which will also make it easier to get to the shuttle.
