iXS Downhill Cup Agenda 2017

Season Preview

The season 2016 is in the books and the off-season is slowly but surely approaching. Although the next season still seems to be far away, it is time to have a look at next year’s agenda. The dates for our 15th season have been fixed just in time, so here is the iXS Downhill Cup calendar 2017.

One thing to begin with, it won’t get boring. The iXS race calendar contains 23 races. This year a total of 6.029 participations means, that 2.352 different riders from 42 nations took to the start. The interest for the races shows no signs of slowing down and this success story will be written on next year.

The flagship event remains the iXS European Downhill Cup, which heads into its tenth season. The European series returns to its traditional venues according to the principle “never change a running system”: The season will be opened in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. The second race will then take us to Willingen and the BIKE Festival, which provides the riders with its shortest, but definitely not easiest track of the season. In mid-June the third race invites you all to one of our all-time favorites with Schladming’s Planai, before we will make our way to Spicak for round four. The last race will be hosted in Leogang during the Biketember Festival.

The national race series have also become institutions. The iXS Swiss Downhill Cup will be in its fifteen year in 2017, and the iXS German Downhill Cup is taking place for the eleventh consecutive time. Unfortunately we are missing some hard tracks in Germany, but we came up with some great alternatives! The second race of the GDC will take us to Brandnertal (AUT) and for the fifth race we will make our way to Klinovec (CZE). Both venues are close to the German border.
