Bariloche opens the season
2016, the iXS Downhill Cup launched a new project with additional races in South America. Admittedly, with only one race in 2018 it is not a real “series” but it is the overall goal of the iXS Cup to keep growing by developing a new branch with several races across South America over the next few years.
If you followed last year’s races you probably know that the South American races provide the riders with equally demanding tracks and real hot race action as their European counterparts.
Especially the already renowned Bariloche offers the perfect location for downhill riders, as it is only 19 kilometers off the Cerro Catedral, South America’s biggest ski area, offering 100 kilometers of pistes. And what is a paradise to skiers and snowboarders during the colder seasons most definitely is a paradise to mountain bike riders looking for some action as soon as the snow begins to thaw! As it stands, Bariloche therefore seems to be the perfect spot to kick off the new season at the first weekend of February. Curious? Check it out and register at ixsdownhillcup.la
