Verbier is not only known through his winter sport activities. The place, which is lying in the French part of Wallis, made also a name to itself in the Mountainbike-Szene. Verbier already was the venue of the Swiss championship in the year 1998. In the last year 250 starters went onto the course "Tire´s Fire". Nick Beer (Team iXS) triumphed on the course, which has a length of 2.2 km and overcomes a height-difference of about 600 metres.
