Comments about the registration system
The registration system has been revised for the last season. In the future, it will be possible to make registration in advance for several races during the season. This registration will represent merely a preliminary registration and is not considered to be binding.
Furthermore, the registration process has been changed in such a way that a log-in area will be provided to the participants. When the initial registration is made under the “Registration” menu item, all relevant data will be entered and after the form is filled out, a confirmation link will be sent to the e-mail address that has been provided. After receipt of this confirmation e-mail, the user will be provided with a timeframe of 168 hours in order to confirm the registration. In order to do this, the link must be clicked upon and subsequently the user name that was used in the initial registration must be entered upon the portal and a password must be created. Then the user can register by using the “Log-in” button in the upper horizontal menu bar and then reach the “My settings” section. There, the preliminary registration can be made as well as changes to the user details and the password.
Another change we’ve made is that the team managers will now have the option of entering multiple riders in the “My settings” section, managing them and registering them for races. During the registration process, the team manager will be asked whether the information regarding any required payments should be sent to him so that it will be possible for the total racing fees for all the racers to be transferred.
Preliminary registration for multiple races is not considered to be binding. Firstly, it serves to improve planning certainty for event organisers and, secondly, to facilitate the registration process. Approximately eight weeks before the respective race for which preliminary registration has been made, an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided in which the registration must be confirmed. Afterwards, the rider can retrieve the payment information. The retrieval is necessary to show the name in the official starting list. After receipt of the start fee into the respective event organiser’s account, the event organiser shall control the receipt of payments in regular intervals and confirm the respective racer so that the name appears in the official start list upon the individual race’s page. Because it is of no benefit to register for multiple races if there isn’t a genuine interest in participating, we request that you make preliminary registration only for those events in which a start appears likely. Adding more races later is possible at any time.
This registration procedure is also helpful in that the racer’s details only have to be entered one time and thus the process is made easier. In addition, in this manner, mistakes in entering data are avoided; for example, in the typing of names so that each racer indeed only appears once on the list of results. Naturally, it is possible to correct the racer’s details at any time; for example, to correct typing mistakes or to add new sponsor names. After successfully logging in, these changes can be made in the “My settings” section.
FAQ
1. What do “Individual racer” and “Team” mean in the drop-down menu?
Participants use the “Individual racer” button. Team managers may enter multiple racers in the system via the “Teams” button and make the registration for them.
2. What is a UCI code?
Only licensed racers have a UCI code. It has the format GER 19801201 and is thus composed of the country code and the birth date backwards (NAT YYYYMMDD). It should not be confused with the license number (e.g., THÜ 171866 - 12). Participants in the free category should leave the UCI code and license number fields blank.
3. What is the difference between nation and starter nation?
It is possible that participants will obtain their license in another country and thus not start for the nation in which they live. As a rule, both nations are generally the same.
4. Does the registration mask distinguish between capital and small letters?
Yes, this is particularly important for user names and passwords. Thus, the caps lock key should not be pressed down. Furthermore, no special characters are permitted in the user name.
5. Why am I being asked in the “Team” registration section whether the payment information is supposed to be sent to me?
This option serves the purpose of making it possible for the team manager to transfer the start fees for all teams.
6. May I still change the data I entered at a later date?
This option exists at any time. After successful registration is made via the “Log-in” button with the user name and the password provided during registration, one will reach the “My settings” section and can click upon the “User settings” item. One can make the changes there and then click on “Save”.
7. Why is the iXS Rookies Cup not listed on the preliminary registration list for licensed drivers?
The iXS Rookies Cup is only for participants without a valid license from a national association and thus may not be selected by licensed participants.
8. Does my preliminary registration guarantee me a starting spot?
No, the preliminary registration is not binding. Thus, there is no benefit in registering for additional races unless a genuine interest in participating exists. Furthermore, last year, the event organisers stopped accepting registrations only for the Winterberg event.
9. How much time do I have to confirm after I receive the e-mail with the inquiry as to whether I really wish to participate in the race?
This confirmation must be made within 14 days. Otherwise, the preliminary registration will be deleted from the system. It is possible to register again at any time insofar as the event organisers have not stopped accepting registrations.
10. How long do I have to transfer the fee after receipt of the request for payment?
The start fee must be received into the event organiser’s account by no later than 14 days while providing the relevant ID. Insofar as this does not occur, the registration will be automatically deleted from the system.
11. What will happen if I haven’t received the confirmation e-mail?
Often, the problem lies in that the e-mail arrives in the participant’s spam folder. Furthermore, the possibility exists that the participant’s Inbox is full or the wrong e-mail address was typed.
12. What must I do if I have forgotten my password?
In order to prevent this problem, it’s a good idea to write it down! Otherwise, one should request a new one via the link under the “Log-in” menu item. However, the response could take a couple of days because we are often on the road and most event sites are not equipped with a W-LAN connection.
13. What is cancellation cost insurance?
In case you decide not to participate in a race owing to acknowledged reasons, this insurance will reimburse you for the start fees which you have already paid. Other information can be retrieved during the registration process.
